This book was limited in its coverage of access for travelers with limited mobility. I have MS and use a rolator walker. I was hoping for more suggestions and information, and not enough places covered. I understand that every major city could not be covered, but this book just didn’t cover enough. Also, maybe If a person with a disability collaborated on it, it might have offered better info. (Maybe someone with a disability did assist him, but it did not feel like it)

This book was excellent and a huge help in terms of links tio places to find additional information for those with mobility issues, the ONLY improvement I could see is if there were an updated version since this is 8 years old now, and would also love to see some additional cities in Europe not included like Switzerland and Italy for instance

This book provided valuable insight into visiting Paris for someone with limited mobility. I wish there was a similar reference for every location I visit!

This is a solid book. I've used it as a supplemental reading in several courses. I've enjoyed it, but the students seem to get tired of it past the first few chapters, when she has the most stories about breaking up over new media.

Through a series of entertaining and revealing interviews, mostly with college students, The Breakup 2.0 examines how new technologies are changing not only romantic relationships but the ways people end those relationships. At a moment when not everyone uses the same media and understands the media they use in different ways, Gershon explores the various ethical dilemmas which arise when people break-up over a medium rather than face-to-face. In the process Gershon makes a number of fascinating points, including the fact that people are beginning to reimagine what counts as a medium--she notes that some of interviewees are starting to describe face-to-face interaction as a medium--and that public speech is becoming less about anonymity and more about accessibility.

I had to purchase this for school. It was a fast read and wonderful. I enjoyed the story telling and the overall data that the author presents. It was an ethnography about the use of facebook and how we use it in the modern age. I recommend to anyone taking a language and culture class or linguistics.

If you're interested in media ethnographic or linguistic anthropology this book is perfect for you. A little repetitive an little outdated but the study and theories seem solid and the data and analysis was extremely interesting an enlightening.

Since my husband and I are sailors I found this very interesting and it is hard to believe what peoplewill do. I read this book in one day, could not put it down.

Interesting but tough to get through what is essentially a journal about the anxiety, discomfort and boredom of being a ransom captive.

The novel is very well written and full of details and adventure! I could see myself with them at sea!

I enjoyed it as I am a sailor but do only local things. At times I found it slow but overall it was enjoyable.

Not terribly interesting. A lot of minutiae. I had to read this for a book club but would not recommend it.
