I really like the 101 Verses that Stick for Kids, however, I wish the print was a little bigger. I stuck this on our refrigerator where we usually write our memory verses on a marker board. I have to stand pretty close to read them (and I have good eyes). I also wish the verses were shorter because it's a lot for my 3-year-old to memorize weekly (that's how we do verses). I have used verses from this and broken them up so my boys can memorize them easier.

I was disappointed with these.... The text on the printed verse is blurry, like a very poor quality printer was used. The print looks "cheap". I would get crisper looking text on my home printer.

I like these but the font/print looks like it was done on a cheap laser printer. Also these don't stick well on the mirror and keep falling off.

My neighbors and i make lunches Saturday for homeless/needy folks. These are great to stick on the lunch containers

I use them to put in my son's lunch box in the mornings. They are very versatile and easy to use.

I've been pretty happy with this book. It's a little too edgy for my liking-- almost like it's trying too hard to get people who are on the fringes of society. I have slowly been reading through most of the essays, and as I sit here right now the two that stand out as stellar in my mind are:-Kate Dillon's piece on life before and after becoming a plus-size model, and-a thoughtful essay by a woman who worked for awhile as a stripper and actually felt empowered and liberated by it, as opposed to objectified as we might thinkOverall, I recommend this book but think it would've been richer if some of the pieces had been left out.

This is an excellent anthology for anyone interested in body image. It features a diverse selection of contributors writing about different image challenges. Hair texture and style, body weight, nose size, skin color, height and other issues are discussed in the pieces. The stories are honest and interesting, with many of the writers injected some humor and wit along the way. The book also is very well edited.

To read about the different body image struggles that other women go through was eye opening. Hearing about body image issues that I would never have thought to have myself helped me realize that there's no one unitary idea of beauty. Therefore I might as well define it for myself and run with it.

If you are looking for a book to challenge the status quo skip this one!

Really enjoyed most of these essays. Some more than others.

Bought this with Deadly Persuasion for a HS report. It had the information I needed. Along the way, it was an eye opener.

This book is fantastic! Very relatable.

Having been raised in a religious household I was led to believe the gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John were the pillars of Christianity. It was my belief that led me to pursue biblical history, which in turn injected a sense of sobering reality in me. Discovering the relationship between the Roman emperor Constantine, the First Council of Nicaea, and the Creed of Constantinople was too provocative to ignore. Many gospels that predate the events I mentioned were written. Most were destroyed in order to legitimatize the 4 gospels of the new testament. The discovery of ANY Coptic artifact is tremendous and should be revered by all people. Burying your head in the sand won't change the fact that a gospel was written around 200 AD that states the actions Judas took were at the behest of Jesus. We will never know how much was truly written about the life of Jesus because it was in the best interest of those who controlled the church to eliminate anything that could contradict what mortal man arbitrarily established as fact. To me, the gospel of Judas cannot be ignored simply based on it's physical existence. The book "The Gospel of Judas" was written under the supervision of Rodolphe Kasser, who is one of the few people on the planet who can read Coptic script and who participated in the restoration process. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially Christians, not for the purpose of changing beliefs, but for the purpose of reading another chapter written about the life of Jesus from a time period other gospels were created in.

Although none of the seven scholars contributing to this book is a gnostic, they have been asked to speculate on what was in the minds of two gnostics writing 2000 years ago. As Marvin Meyer wrote in his introduction, “At stake in the divergent interpretations of the Gospel of Judas is the very nature of the text. Who is Jesus in the text and who is Jesus? What is the purpose of the text? Is the gospel fundamentally evangelium or dysangelium. Good news or bad news? What does the Gospel of Judas really mean?”I agree with him that “The discussion of the meaning of the Gospel of Judas is exciting and dynamic, and it is certain to continue into the future. Scholars will continue to scrutinize the reconstruction of the codex and the placement of fragments, and they will propose new textual restorations and new readings. Unplaced fragments may be placed: missing papyrus may be found. New suggestions for translation and interpretation will be presented and debated, and new theories will be advanced. In a way, the work on the Gospel of Judas has only begun. In the months and years ahead, more light will be shed on this fascinating gospel of light.” In response, I offer what may be some of the light he expected.Since scholars agree that gnostics existed, and that a Greek version of the Gospel of Judas was written prior to 180 CE, after the New Testament’s four gospels and the Book of Acts were composed, it would not be illogical to conclude that the Greek version was written by a Christian who had become a gnostic after becoming aware of the mystical gnostic belief system circulating at the time he wrote. His message was for Christians who could read Greek.In like manner, the translator of the Greek version into a Coptic dialect spoken in Egypt in the fourth century CE was a member of the Sethian Coptic Orthodox Christian Church. This church believed it was established by Saint Mark and that Seth was the Christ. This translator also became a gnostic after becoming aware the same gnostic texts. He was delivering a message to the Christians who read Coptic.The message in both versions was very simple, but to understand it a reader of the Gospel of Judas has to know that the word Christ is English for the Greek word Christos which, in turn, is Greek for the Hebrew word Mashiach which means the anointed one or messiah who was the flesh and blood deliverer expected by the Jews to be a descendent of King David. Seth was the flesh and blood son of Adam and Eve. Both Jesus the messiah and Seth the messiah were mortals who were unaware of who they were and where they came from. They were not gnostics!In short, both translators wanted the members of their respective churches to know that only mortals who had become gnostics would return to the preexistent “great and holy generation” that abides in the spirit world created by their Most High God.

Others write about you, and in a bad way, some are kind and say the devil made you do it.-------OR ---- you are a misguided person and sell your friend out-- and you see the consequences of your actions and deep in remorse you can not reverse it--and make it all go away--you end your life.EITHER SCENARIO-- Judas ended his life--and is someone I have pity for, me heart goes out to him.Unless he was good or evil and someone else ended his life for him--and not written about.I will consider the Gospel of Judas in light of the Nag Hammadi and Gospel of John.

This little book did not disappoint. If you are into what might be called the "off-Broadway" style of understanding the Bible, this book is for you. I had heard of this book from others and was curious as to its content. Based on fragments of ancient texts that were not included in the writing of the Bible, they open up a whole new line of thing about the relationship between the much aligned and accused Judas and Jesus. If you are curious, if you have questions, if you just want to read an ancient text, this book is a very good read. It is not technical as I had feared, that is written for people who were Bible scholars. The texts and the rest of the information explore a very important relationship in religion and history.

Something is definitely off about this book, I purchased it from the seller Franklin Media..... Definitely a fake, counterfeit copy. Like the cover is out of focus (look at picture, camera is in focus), the whole book seems small in size, and the color is off (orange instead of yellow). It's like the cover was printed up off a scanned image file with bad resolution, the text is pixelated and blurry, and they tried to adjust/correct the color, the image on the cover is cutoff at a point, and the "orange" label/binding image doesn't even properly fit. Then inside they chopped off /trimmed up the pages, leaving like zero margin inside the book, and that will probably be annoying trying to read the inner text against the binding. Makes me think it is a counterfeit for sure, at the very least cheaply rebound, and poorly done, and I probably won't be able to resell it after I'm done with it.Nothing about being rebound or a misprint or anything was in the description. I feel like I bought a imitation and counterfeit book, in short a really crappy version. And there were plenty others I could have chosen in the same price range.Beware!

I don’t even think it was the correct book, it had the right title but none of the pages were correct . my classmates would turn to a page and it would be a completely different topic on the one that I have, it says it’s the ninth edition but everybody else’s the ninth edition had a completely different topic on every single page so I don’t even know if it was the right book even though the title is the same

For a used book, this is perfect for what I need and it also saved money by buying it used. The book was in decent shape and worth the money saved.

What my kid needed

I used this lab book instead of the current one and I never ran into an issue with it. The lab chapters line up right with the current edition (didn't check page numbers but who cares). So it worked out fine.Save yourself some money and get this one...your wallet will thank you ;)

I like that it was at a very reasonable price and could still be used for my Electrical Circuits I class, although the class called for the 9th edition textbook. The questions and text are the same, just a few pages off.

Somewhat easy to read
